It is a bit difficult tho, because there's not much of an alternative for documentaries on historical topics, so those get a pass, but on contemporary topics? We can do better

So many documentaries just plop people on chairs and film them speaking to a stationary camera... its so uninspired and lifeless

People don't live their lives on a chair!

Even if the documentary is good, I'm left feeling "this could be so much better"

I'd elaborate more but I need to read more about his directorial process before I feel fully confident in some of the claims I'm cooking up

But regardless, this endeavor has frankly felt like a massive regretful waste of time and I would dissuade anyone else from attempting it
