I am an unofficial ADHD'er, going from failing grades to writing software that billions of people use (and burnout), to traveling the world as a nomad. For now, I'm restoring a salmon habitat while dreaming of adventure (pictured above is Skopje)
You're right, the article is super unfair. I can speak for myself, my problems in school was everything else from me not being smart (failing grade 7) to "maybe being left handed means he's more creative instead?". In reality, ADHD was my strength, society just didn't understand.

I have experience in kiosk mode in Windows: www.windowscentral.com/how-set-kios... I'm sure it's not the answer you're looking for but at least if you've paid for Office it's licensed in Windows too
How to set up Kiosk mode on Windows 11
If you need to set up a kiosk device for the organization, event, or home, in this guide, I'll show you how on Windows 11.

If he told me that, I would have heard "Have you considered, as..." and would have trailed off around there. It begs the question, why does everybody have to be good at the same things? Can't work take advantage of special skills?

If anybody ever tries to associate autism and whatever kind of problem, Dave Plumber, inventor of Windows Task Manager, integrator of Zip integration in Windows and many other features, succeeded simply by being himself (see Dave's Garage in YT). We create, neurotypical consume

Medication didn't do much for me, but I had discovered long ago that to focus I need coffee, headphones with obnoxious music in a semi busy environment such as a coffee shop or library. I also have a window of focus between 2pm and midnight. I'm lucky. I discovered this before I understood why

Oracle is the late comer, is desperate for relevance.

But here's a nugget: Oracle is the only company that has an army of lawyers to sue their customers (and Google for using Java in Android). They are also on the wrong side of history right now for more reasons too

Two things: you have white, black, red, and ground wires. Are there two switches (called 2-way) that both can control the lights?

Second, the dimmer switch isn't the problem, it's the LEDs. When buying them the box should say "dimmable". Not sure why.

Congrats, old friend, you earned it!

There's a lot in common with Java, DotNET runs in a kind of virtual machine by may choose to JIT compile again to run native on the processor. On Android, C# (MAUI) is compiled to Java bytecode to get around device limitations. It's all transparent, we rarely think of it

I don't get it. Looking at a BC house, the window sills are flat on the bottom exterior. This is going to be difficult to waterproof for a region that rains a lot. Why are they not using commodity supplies? Cheap off the shelf windows solve that problem yet an expensive difficult solution suggested?

Why do none of them have eaves? I can understand a flat roof having a square edge on the roof, but a slopped roof that goes straight to the outside wall seems like it would have consequences from moisture runoff and freezing.

Gotta love an argument that invalidates itself, we must ask why are we supposed to trust him? It's like "everything I say is a lie, except for this. And the last sentence."

DotNET runtime is an interpreter able to run a machine language that easy for almost every platform to interpret and run (IOS used to until AppStore blocked it). C#, F#, and VB are languages that compile to DotNET binaries

I'm of the unfortunate age that my ADHD was dismissed as my fault for everything and I had to "try harder". I've since realized that ADHD wasn't a weakness but a strength as it gave me talents and successes

We all need to find those gifts and mitigations because we have potential to outrun others

The answer is simple: teachers, parents, managers, etc can all explain it away as something else. Not smart, day dreaming, doesn't understand and needs to ask questions, lacks confidence (eye contact), just creative instead. The problem was never you despite what too many say

I traveled through most of Europe. The only place I was unable to communicate was in a small (but beautiful) town in North Macedonia. We ordered lunch using pictures. Sigh. I miss traveling. I miss not being able to read road signs or food labels.

Is there anything I can do to help? On the record I can say empathy toward people as individuals, understanding their strengths and putting them into positions that use those strengths. Being there for their weaknesses. My favorite manager nailed all of the above

My parents told me "it's because you're left handed, it makes you creative instead!" My teachers told them "if he doesn't understand, he needs to ask." My managers said "your lack of eye contact makes you seem unconfident." Girls I liked didn't reply. They didn't see my strengths, but some did

Before knowing, I buried myself in work because it felt like the only thing I could control. Relationships fizzled within seconds and life got really lonely. Turns out relationships can happen when both have ADHD. Bonus points if neither are aware

For me driving quiets the voices and I love the feeling of focus. Once driving, it's like all the ducks that were running around quacking suddenly get in line and quietly walk forward.

Driving isn't for everybody, but everybody deserves to find that one thing that gives us peace

While letting people shoot intruders is kind of an eye roll moment, it might be a good time for the left side to start communicating that things are safer now than ever. We aren't good at this and progressives (of all countries) aren't good at calling out conservative BS.

I assume 1984 hit too close to home as well. Was it giving away their playbook?
August 31, 2025 at 5:06 PM
No, but can I assume most communities had this? Of course they have vanished since

While I'd prefer that would be true, the yahoos that spent the last year waving Canadian flags & anti vax/Trudeau signs at my town's entrance would disagree. There was always a car with Alberta plates. I believe the influx of Albertans and their protesters has changed the chemistry of the island

This would be solved so much easier if you tell the separatists that if they get what they want, they won't be able to retire on Vancouver Island.
