Still engages the same mechanics, still possible to be punished by bad decisions -- just far more generous with damage values.
This (Casual) is the second easiest difficulty setting (easier than "Normal", and harder than "Relaxed") (All three options are easier than Vanilla).

Another fun thing about Alladin Ring Reforged is the additions made to the moveset -- while still feeling largely authentic to the core, vanilla experience.
The ability to slide is one of the new dodge options, but some moveset, like the Double Axe, have a really cool slide attack.

Also highlighting the fact that you can attack / guard counter with a left-hand armament, even a shield.
Shields do great poise damage, so it's a good way to stagger enemies and provides more value to your weapon setup. Gives more reason to level shields too. It can be toggled at any grace.

One of the things not easily shown in the video is that while FP regens passively in battle, some spells have been turned into "generator spells" that exist primarily to generate FP instead of do damage -- so you are less reliant on cerulean flasks as a mage just to keep the fight going.

Never in my life did I ever think I'd get mimic veiled! They invaded, went undetected as I was invaded by a recusant -- who we killed -- then I had to find this invader. Heh.
Not my best work, but Reforged has led to interesting pvp encounters.

I've never played a magic class in Elden Ring before, but Reforged adds some nice features to magic - like the ability to access two spells via R1/R2 and the addition of generator spells to regain FP.
Being able to guard counter & critical strike with your Left Hand offers more versatility too.

One of my favourite thing about the soulsies games, especially when playing them slowly, is that I'm rewarded for looking up at the ceiling when adventuring.

Monster Hunter Wilds probably has my favourite version of the Rathian fight and it's 99% because of how cool it feels to perfect guard & dodge its fireball.
