Last year there was a random Aster that showed up in the garden. This year there’s a bunch scattered though the yard. No idea what kind it is but the bees love them! 🐝

Some recent photos from the first year of the #nativeflower garden!
Overall everything grew in pretty well except for the swamp aster.
There were monarch eggs / tiny caterpillars at one point but they didn’t make it. Maybe due to extreme heatwave when they showed up. Still hoping for more!

Spotted our first caterpillar in the pollinator garden! I tried searching the ID but not sure what kind it is. Anyone know what kind of caterpillar is nomming away at our swamp aster?

Yesterday afternoon we had a bunch of #dragonflies flying around our front yard! We hope they stick around and maybe I can take a #photo like this in our own yard! This was one I took at one of our favorite local parks.

Tonight we were checking on our native flower garden and spotted these two small eggs on our swamp milkweed! Are these what we think they are? Monarch butterfly eggs?

Found what I think is Sweet Clover. Can anyone confirm or deny the plants ID?
If it is, then it’s not native here in NY and it’s gotta go to make room for more native plants!
