There's a non-small percentage of people that did not grow up using public transit, not because it was dangerous, but because buses and trains were for poor people. You could build a robust system now, they would not even consider it. Pretending danger is the problem is cute.

I think frothing at the mouth to be violent at a demographic before a killer is caught is odd, and dangerous behavior. It's even more telling that all of that rage disappears once the killer isn't the caricature you were hoping it was. Look at yourselves. Yikes.

Stop giving evil people cover. Some people aren't stupid, they aren't misinformed, they just thought their decisions would only hurt others, and are now experiencing the blowback.

Why should I pay for someone else's healthcare, I hate that idea, instead of the current system, where I'm paying insurance companies to think a little bit about healthcare while denying as much as possible and siphoning record profits? You ever think about that libs?

The whole point of general index funds is that you aren't over leveraged into any vertical. That does not work if the index fund is attached to just the largest companies, and all of those largest companies are a part of the same industry. I would heavily recommend checking that

The jobs report came down today for July, and it's abysmal. Jobs report for May and June were adjusted down by ~280,000 jobs....down to 19k/14k, because they were lying to you. That's not within a range for statistical flexibility, that's not how that works, that's just a lie.

If it seems random and odd that so many tech Bros are interested in Venezuela, it's because they've been abusing the workforce there for slave labor wages since ~2019. Almost, if not every, AI focused company has.

For Artificial General Intelligence to be considered a public good, and not another weapon, presumption is that the company that creates it is going to give it away for free to the public, after they've spent billions in investment to gain market dominance. Good luck with that.

The nationwide dismantling of our scientific research and educational infrastructure is going to have compounding terrible effects on us for generations. All just so a small group of people can make a little bit more money. Just alarmingly stupid national policy we have.

The biggest endorsement I can make for Bluesky is that replacing Twitter with this app on my phone probably improved my general mood when I’m on my phone by 20-25%. I know there are better reasons but it is what it is!
