Had an actual uni prof try to do this to me by demanding I cold interpret an Emily Dickinson poem we hadn't been assigned, just because I disagreed about the one we had been. I think the "bitch, please" in my expression could have been read from Mars. "Educators" giving us all a bad name.

This year will be lace-or-textiles, and while I considered getting a lace shawl from a kick-ass knitter in Uzbekistan, in the end the call of silk and velvet is more than I can resist. It's going to be another JJ Collection scarf, for this year!

This started kind of by accident, when I noticed that I'd gotten myself a bunch of new sheets, for my new, smaller bed for my second year on my own, and... just decided to keep going. Got a quality chopping knife for steel, a beautiful scarf for silk, etc.

I think my most comparable "you think you're clever and omg I'm so tired" is when I say my diss was on women in Melville and my interlocutor invariably says, with obligatory chuckle, "there are women in Melville?" I consider it a whiffle-batting offense, at this point.
