From earlier research we knew about the records kept by our 17c vicar, Anthony St George (incumbent 1661 to 1686), but wonderful now to be able to see the original entries. This one about the Great Fire of London

These two cottages stood on "Gables Corner" - the junction of Paper Mill Lane and Ship Lane. Believed to be part of a larger Wealden Hall house but demolished in the 1960's and the site redeveloped.

Learning tonight about our very own resident 16th century map maker, John Darby. In fact, we had two apparently - the other was John Holland. Who knew? (We didn't obviously 🙄)
