I got my books today and already I am feeling so connected to the handful of local authors I found. this one is a cookbook. Noah’s approach to food honors both their experience cooking and the recipe ancestry, and their commentary is rich with a community worldview that I resonate with so deeply.

last night I restocked most of my patches in the shop! I had so many that were only available in-person, but with markets done for the year, I wanted to get them listed and sent on to new homes! 🖤

learning some simple fingerloop braiding! first braid on the bottom, second on the top. practice makes better! 🧶 if it doesn’t turn out right the first time, keep trying. I want to practice flat braids—they’re tricky!

we had an amazing day at Pride: Durham on Sunday! 🏳️‍🌈 it’s bittersweet: this was the last big event I’ll be doing for some time, and I am so massively thankful for the people who supported me and all the other vendors during this turbulent year ❤️‍🩹🌱

as I prep for restock and get ready to print… I need micro projects and experiments to keep my flow going. these are some mini puff-paint scrap patches I just free-handed! still wet, so we’ll see how they dry down.

I am the PANTS WIZARD. I have made (temporary) pants, bringing back the “zip-off” pant-shorts of ancient times, but using lacing instead of zips. I’m also gonna add drawstrings to the bottom hems to cinch them in during excursions in the woods. 🌲

rather than sewing buttons and button holes… I’ve opted for a harder but more interesting challenge—lacing. we’ll see how it goes after, say, 56 hand-sewn eyelets…

today I am alchemizing the shorts into temporary pants. and yes I use the selvage because every time I see it, I wanna give it a little kiss.
