You can get close to the taste with both fresh and lemon crystals, but part of the taste is the shochu liquor which is expensive in the states when you can even find it. I wish I had brought back more cheap liquor (and weird stuff that doesn't exist here like sweet potato shochu

I was wondering how the hell this would work, I assumed some food grade surfactant like polysorbate 80, but no! Maybe the starch and pectin do pasta water stuff to emulsify
