One reason might be that the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis suppresses anxiety.
(Btw this region is as important as the amygdala in anxiety, likely more).

It seems only obvious the "many analyst" type papers will get increasing scrutiny over the next 3 years, with people doubting their general usefulness. I predict they will largely disappear and their impact will have been small, beyond an example of the hype cycle in science.

Look, think what you want about IIT but I hope anyone can agree how ludicrous it is to say this about *any* theory. If you really believe that a scientific theory of consciousness can validate Plato's views on causation (?) or scientifically model the Kantian noumena, well...

"More likely" is not well defined when discussing theories of consciousness as we only have a single data point: our own conscious experience, which doesn't support either theory. Likelihood can therefore only be based on Bayesian probability and reduces to prior beliefs.
