RIP. My brother was 35 when he passed. Me I spent 14 years in west Africa and I regard it as the best years of my life. At least your brother got to experience life on this continent. I'm retired and spend time every year in Africa.

Broadly speaking yes, and I hate to be that guy but some doomers are right wing apocalyptic white supremacists. We don't have to acknowledge them but they exist.

And I just read your article. Yes he has some people around him who know the climate is changing rapidly. Even Musk is not a denier, he just says it's happening more slowly (!!!). However their response seems to be only geopolitical moves, not environmental ones.

The military, the oil companies, the insurance companies, agribusiness all know the climate is changing. Basically many of the groups that have Trump's ear. I don't think he cares about the climate unless he could position himself as the savior.

He's a bastard but he at least is recognizing climate change is real unlike his boss (who probably does too in secret).

That combination is usually a sign of capital flight (in this case out of the UK), or possibly bond vigilantes at work. Either way it's....interesting.

I'm a retired teacher and have no regrets about my choice of profession. However education is circling the drain and I'm glad I'm done. There are too many destructive forces working against it rn.
