Ah it just clicked for me actually that is the difference between saying “It’s a secular holiday” and “I celebrate it secularly”. Yeah the first one is straight up a lie.

Is the usage of that phrase in general taken negatively or is it specifically when like, HR announces the office Christmas party? I’ve definitely said it before, but only really as a way to excuse my celebration of the holiday as a non-Christian and now I feel self-conscious.
