The dismantling of Science in #Australia continues...

I remember that hopes were high in 2022 that the new Labor Government would end the decade-long decline. We are now in the second #Albanese term, and things are worse than ever.

Wiping out the field of vaccine hesistancy is …. bad.

Just like Lysenkoism brought famine by rejecting science, Trumpism will bring sickness and death by rejecting science.

Hot damn, Steven Horsford just set fire to Trump's U.S. Trade Representative Jameison Greer over Trump's idiotic and costly tariff play.
Rep. Steven Horsford to Greer: "So the trade representative hasn't spoken to the POTUS about a global reordering of trade, but yet he announced it on a tweet? WTF! Who is in charge? It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"

It's 100% understandable and reasonable that the layoffs of scientists/researchers and the gutting of programs that directly helped prevent/treat diseases have gotten the most attention. Those cuts are going to have *enormous* impact. But I want to explain why the comms cuts are also important. 2/x

Exactly true.
NIH funding is key to pharma. And keeping quiet isn't working.

This administration did not get majority support from the American people. And their approval rating has fallen dramatically as Americans figure out what they are really doing.

Stop the coup: Trump and Musk hands off.
Noticeably silent amid the upheaval at HHS? Big pharma. Every new drug has NIH somewhere in its DNA--and NIH funding supports the training of their workforce. Now they're finding out FDA isn't safe, either. Wrote about how keeping quiet isn't working My latest @opinion.bloomberg.com (gift link):
