Westport costs are blowing out before it even starts.

Westport impacts means desalination plant pipes in Cockburn Sound will likely need to be extended to avoid contamination, that could cost $1 billion.

Time to rethink this unnecessary project.

This should be a time for leadership and bolder climate action but instead it seems that the WA Government is walking away from clear and measurable climate targets and with it substantive climate action this decade.

“WA Labor had been more focused on supporting expanded fossil fuel developments – ie Woodside’s North-West Shelf gas exporting facility – than on ensuring a rapid expansion of renewable energy”.
