For years I've wanted to teach an ecocritical course on Nordic cinema. Didn't expect that I'd end up doing it in German, but I'm very grateful for the opportunity offered by HU Berlin and for the 15 curious and whip-smart BA and MA students who enrolled. Next week we're discussing 'Antichrist' 😅

Mín týðing til enskt av 'Eg skrivi á vátt pappír' eftir Lív Mariu Róadóttir Jæger er júst útgivin sum 'I Write on Wet Paper.' Tað er ein sera stór heiður at fáa høvi at týða, serliga yrkingar, enn serligari yrkingar skrivaðar av einum av teimum kulastu menniskjum, eg nakrantíð havi møtt. 🇫🇴

After 4+ years in the works, my translation of the inimitable Monika Fagerholm’s acclaimed, defiant novel ‘Vem dödade Bambi?‘ will be out in March 2026 with University of Wisconsin Press.

Brace yourself.

The registration for my little course on appreciating translations has been live for a few weeks already, but I neglected to share here.

Starting next Monday – Please share widely! (even on twitter, since I don't have it anymore)

Happy to be amongst such a formidable group of translators as a 2025 NEA Translation Fellow, to finish up my work on Monika Fagerholm’s WHO KILLED BAMBI?

First post kinda nervous

Hi I’m Brad. I grew up in a farm in Minnesota. I’m trying to write a dissertation on eco-corporeality in 20th century German and Nordic poetry. I also translate things. For the time being I live in Berlin.
