I am really outdone. The Maryland National Guard cannot celebrate Frederick Douglass, the state’s native son and perhaps the greatest American this nation ever produced, because he’s Black and his chosen birthday happened to fall during Black History Month. (Ask me why he had to choose is b-day)

As The Trump administration continues to pursue unprecedented cuts to the Federal workforce, the Frederick County government and Chamber of Commerce are gathering resources to help displaced feds.

Frederick County currently has approximately 4,700 federal employees. If Trump's EO to slow federal hiring stands, that could result in more than 3,000 jobs being lost in the county over time.

Order directs agencies to work with DOGE and says that after the current hiring freeze lifts, agencies will only be able to hire one new employee for every four who leave (with a few exceptions like law enforcement)
