Really enlightening though, and yeah; imo our dms should be open and replies should be prompt for inquiries/updates, and if we can’t be available we can post notifying everyone too. Should also keep our promises

But yeah I just am honored to be able to do commissions and that is definitely something I keep in mind every day

Tacking this on for clarification:

Asking for updates is perfectly okay. Any reasonable artist would be okay with this.

What’s not, is asking for updates and getting hardly any replies, or getting a day that comes and goes without the promised update or without any “sorry, give me x days more!”

YES! Exactly this. I want to at least be told accurate dates and not promises that just go by without comment or anything

I also hate having to ask for updates by say, month five of a commission that was supposed to be “almost done” by month two. Again they probably had something come up but, that should have been communicated

So I personally don’t mind asking for updates. I schedule mine around once every month to once every two weeks.

What grinds my gears is asking for an update, and not being replied to / given the runaround!
