The problem is with asymmetric media portrayals. The Republican you see on TV is usually some hefty white dude with a trucker hat on; the Democrat is usually the college student. These tropes have led the media to a false sense of what "regular folks" even are.

I'll tell you, @walshfreedom.bsky.social: he was working his ass off to make sure gay people couldn't get married, something 70% of the US now supports. That was his job. From there, he went directly into politics. That's what we call a career politician. So which party is more out of touch?

And for anyone who wants to pull the whole, "Families are off limits" canard, I give you Hunter Biden. And Michelle Obama. And Chelsea Clinton. Like, Republicans go after families all the time! So I'm gonna say it: Usha Vance is as big a piece of trash as her husband is.
