I'm home-schooled, what's your excuse?
everyone's security is precarious when the US can just send in the marines to shoot whoever they deem a 'gang member'. wasn't that long ago they were claiming canada was sending fantastical amounts of drugs across the border. reality is what they say it is. nothing they say is true

Alberta premier says loss of measles elimination status concerning, urges vigilance
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says Canada recently losing its measles elimination status is concerning, but her government might not have many options on the table to help get it back.

'the organization said, though N95 or KN95 masks from outside the facilities will also be permitted'

isn't that comforting? they'll allow proper ppe in the building as well.

How is it i'm better informed and i'm just a random with an internet connection?

Medical masks were never designed to protect the wearer — and leading safety authorities are finally saying so. Only respirators (like N95s) qualify as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Read more: whn.global/whn-joins-in....

i do see what you mean and i don't mean to conflate individual immunity with overall group immunity but the upshot seems the same. hoping the ambient viral levels are low enough because an average amount of people did get antibodies from being sick. could be me next time though. sucks as policy

"Alberta technically hasn't had a permanent chief medical officer since 2022, when Smith followed through on a campaign promise to fire Dr. Deena Hinshaw over frustrations with COVID-19 health measures"

i doubt measles will be the last virus to come back with current post-covid 'health policies'
November 15, 2025 at 1:15 PM
this 'herd immunity' kind of policy was loudly decried when great briton tried it early on. knowing what we know about covid now, it's suicide. the abject failure to communicate that covid is worth avoiding and that proper masking works has made it nearly immposible to change people's minds
unless the disease happens to disrupt the immune system (among other organ damage, including the brain) and then repeat infections become a countdown to T-cell exhuastion and large segments of the population develop immune disorders, no? am i missing something

this sort of argument helped pave the way for constant infection without pushing back against anti-vaxx voices who wanted 0 restrictions all along

i blame, in part, inconsistancy from health authorities and them shying away from basic mimimum masking standards. 'you do you' isn't health policy

"Decreasing the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections would be highly beneficial. It would reduce the acute health burden, the incidence of long COVID, and the level of risk for vulnerable groups.

But it’s not a goal we can afford to pursue at any cost"

are masks so expensive?

'we must get infected to be immune' is the sort of thing a mathematician would come up with. surprised it wasn't an economist
