the skill set is absolutely shifting, and that’s fine, but my biggest fear is that companies will start phasing out experienced software developers under the assumption that LLMs can fully take over, treating them as a replacement rather than a tool

100%! I don’t do much hardcore programming these days, but even when I tinker, there’s still something missing in their ability to create coherent system design
They’re great for speeding up syntax & small projects, but they’re not there yet for larger-scale architecture or thinking in the abstract
