@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Spider-Man: Miles Morales - These spider-man games have perfected the free flowing combat style from the Arkham games, and traversal by web slinging is just as fun as combat. Excellent story, voice acting, & music. 10/10.

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit COD: Black Ops 6 - This is the 1st COD I’ve played in probably 15 years. The shooter mechanics are elite, but the campaign is short and spends too much time on stealth and spy segments between action sequences. Needs more shooting in a longer campaign. 7/10.

I have long thought that the Robert California episodes were some of the funniest ones.

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Astro’s Playroom - Your boy got a PS5! This pack in tech demo is a lot of fun, although I’m not a fan of motion controls. Displays all the controller functions while taking a tour through PS history. 9/10.

@blinkoom.bsky.social @polykillpodcast.bsky.social I don’t do pick ups videos or streams, but if I did… Let’s just say my next beat skeet will probably be Astro’s Playroom…

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown - This gated exploration platformer has excellent combat and some brutally challenging platforming sections. Such a great little game. Would welcome more shorter games like this, over the 100-150 hour albatrosses. 9/10

My most #Dad Habits:

Always check the mail when I get home from work
Obsessively monitor the weather
Change oil in vehicles right when it hits the mileage
Go around house turning lights off
Zero tolerance for exterior doors being left open for even a microsecond longer than it takes to come or go

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Balatro - I’m late to this one, but oh my oh my oh my…. Finished a run for the first time and I’m just itching for more. Love this game. It’s probably going to push out a couple of the bigger games I’ve been working through. 10/10

Current gaming: working my way through AC Shadows and prob will be for months; also working through Prince of Persia the Lost Crown.

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Axiom Verge - Been working on this while taking breaks from a big RPG. S tier music, great 2D platformer gameplay, and creepy ambience make this *gated exploration* game the best version of Super Metroid, in my opinion. 9/10.

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Octopath Traveler 2 - Been working on this beefy boy. Have been stuck on the final secret boss for a week. After my last run at him ended after an hour, I said fuck it. Calling it a beat. 8.5/10, improves on the first one. Elite JRPG gameplay.

Just finished the prologue in AC: Shadows. This is gonna be such a great game. And I know I’ll be playing it for months. I put 130 hours into Valhalla…

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Mario Picross on Game Boy via Switch Online - it’s picross puzzles. On Game Boy. Perfect for watching ball or listening to podcasts. Big middle aged dad energy, and that’s okay with me.

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Star Wars Outlaws - This game takes the Ubisoft formula (make all the things on the map disappear) and sets it in the Star Wars universe. Elite music, writing, and immersion with some great callbacks to the movies in a genuinely good original story. 9/10

Awards shows are self sucks by narcissistic industry insiders. Particularly when they focus on content that probably 95%+ of the country has never seen.

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare - This DLC was pretty fun, adding spooky ambience, & new enemies, weapons, and horses. Short enough to not get repetitive. Enjoyed it more than the main game content. Perfect example of DLC done right in 7th console Gen

@polykillpodcast.bsky.social #justbeatit Red Dead Redemption - This is a rebeat. First time I’ve played it since it released… 15 yrs ago? Doesn’t hold up next to RDR2, and movement is janky. But it’s like a cozy game for me. Just western shoot em up, minimal story, make the map icons disappear.

Book 3 of 2025: The Walking Dead Vol. 9

More of the same, back to Hershel’s farm after the Governor and his tank. Been so long since I watched the show, I can’t remember all ways it deviates from the comic. Except the obvious - Tyrese, Carol, Judith. And no Daryl in the comics.

Look, there’s a specific way it’s supposed to be loaded, for efficiency’s sake - so you maximize both your cleaning and space.
every single couple, gay straight married unmarried whatever has one partner who loads the dishwasher like theyre michelangelo finishing up the Sistine Chapel & another who chucks everything angrily and have a personal vendetta against plates, a dishwasher that takes sides is gonna end relationships
Imagine a dishwasher that criticise the way you filled it up
