Instead of thinking about the slippery slope that hasn’t happened yet, let’s think about the one that already has, completely anonymous cars accountable to no one.
Just in case you wanna murder someone, best do with a car with tinted covers on the plates, no one will ever catch you.

Maybe reduce the fees for how much support/signatures you have? Or if you have like a certain % of a council ward?

Although, the nexus is that the more signatures there are, the more administrative labor is required to verify them...

Hmmm

This is literally the purpose of liscense plates.
It’s not like it’s your social security number.

Reminder: This is a metro area that's lost population for 50 years & traffic that's stayed flat for at least 20.
There's no growth explosion coming that would make it pencil, especially not without inducing massive reinvestment in the city core, such as removing an overbuilt highway.

I get not having the Hoan conversation: it muddies the waters about the current choice re: 794. Plus: people *like* the Hoan and have a visceral reaction to removing it.

But, If the bridge had a $1 - $2 toll on it EACH WAY from 1975 to now, it wouldn't have broken even. Same goes for post 2053.
November 13, 2025 at 8:04 PM
In 1975 dollars, the bridge cost $75M. (That's $450M in 2025)
In 2010, HTNB estimated a rebuild in 2053 would be $450M in 2010 Dollars.

Such a projection is pure optimistic fantasy. Does anyone think it could be done for less than $2B in 2025 dollars?

$2B for 35,000 ADT is insanity.

Years back I had full arguements with my wife, who was parroting these vehicular cycling rules she’s was taught as a child in her school.

I kept on telling her the guy was a quack and no one wants to ride with cars, and he never thought about non “fit” men, women or children.

She’s come around.

I just wonder what the heck they wouldn’t capitulate on.

If you’re gonna build a city on ranch land in the middle of nowhere: pick this place. No CEQA or zoning!

6 senators. 3 house seats. 10 electoral votes (that = WI)

Make sustainability a key priority: low water impact, wind/solar/geothermal power , great transit, no private cars, etc.

Just sayin.

Randomly replace 1/10 plastic flex posts with secret ninja bollards.

What’s the approval rating for Nazi tatoo guy? Is the question
October 24, 2025 at 7:28 PM
lol.

I say the same thing about traffic lights and signs
“The people you need to worry about aren’t the ones paying attention to signs”

What if they painted No Parking on a giant ass boulder?

That’ll do it

May I humbly suggest…

Trumps cabinet has a person who was an actual elected Democratic congressperson and vice Chair of the DNC and an actual member of the Kennedy family.

Let’s just say the background checks and vetting are not super strengths of the party.

Run planted candidates in all kinds of primaries.
October 22, 2025 at 2:06 PM
You know, I’ve seen the theories that he’s a plant, but you really have to try harder at being incognito than Nazi skull chest tattoo, but it got me thinking : “why aren’t we using plants?”

Like those voters don’t care about policy, just run someone in a primary that passes the vibes check.
