I want city council to ban tear gas/ pepper spray/chemical weapons in Saint Paul. Surely, we have the votes for it. It's only ever abused. I'd argue there's no justifiable use for it, ever, but even if there were, it's always abused.

I don't know what — or really, if anything — in Lizza's account is true, because I don't trust him as far as I can throw him. If *any* of it is true, the fact that we are only hearing about it now, after the fact, to drive subscriptions to his paywalled private newsletter, is frankly vile!

There's this weird mindset that voters won't object to a breaking of tax promises is if it's done in a sufficiently convoluted way. Like they're fae creatures impressed you found a way around their contract terms or something.

Basically all fruit pies, when done right, are fantastic. But so many people fuck up fruit pies. If someone is out there shaking their head at me, consider: was the pie I hated watery or gloopy? If yes, you had a bad pie. Blame the baker, not the fruit.

This thread is for me as much as anyone. I too have been upset that someone was “wrong on the internet.”

You will gain nothing from yelling at them about it. They will dig in on their bad opinions and you will have wasted a small portion of your time on earth, which is precious.

There are people on here who clearly don’t understand books/films/visual art. Like, they take away things from them that are not only not intended by the creator (to be expected and actually interesting and good), but are actively willfully misconstruing or just not understanding them. Leave them be
