Disruption is all they seem to understand—so that’s exactly what they’re getting. For 14 hours, @booker.senate.gov has been on the Senate floor, speaking truth within the rules. This cannot be business as usual when our democracy’s on the line. Thank you, senator.

This has to be the worst timeline to be sober.

This is how I find out Mara Wilson is on bluesky and that I, too, dnf’d that book. Oh, my giddy aunt.
Still haven’t seen Wicked, but it does warm my heart to know that there is now an entire other generation that is going to attempt to read, and inevitably decide not to finish, the book it’s based on

Happy PLR Day to everyone who celebrates! And readers, remember that not only do libraries give you access to a wide selection of books for free, the Government also pays authors a small sum for every time one of their books is borrowed from a public library... #ThisWritingLife

May she be well protected indeed. It is gonna be a tough fight ahead.
I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.

Seriously. AND this person will have access to nuclear codes. FFS, I hate this timeline.
He should have never been allowed to run for office, according to Section 3 of our 14th Amendment.

He, an adjudicated rapist and convicted felon, does not deserve the honor and prestige of the presidency.

He deserves scorn and derision. He deserves PRISON time.

The insurance companies that decided to cancel fire insurance in California need to give that money back that to all of those homeowners have paid years into those services/protections.

Welp. It is not a justice system. What we have is a legal system. Good night.

The only 2025 resolution I made was to read waaaay more than I have in previous years. Ended 2024 with 78 read books and 4 did-not-finish. Not too shabby.

Dammit, I hate to be that person to repost my responses to other's posts but this brought back some dear to my heart fun. I should get some boxes and relive the good times.
Same. I worked a whole lotta years in restaurants and to this day, I miss breaking down boxes. I used to pretend to be Godzilla back there, just tearing them down and occasionally roaring. Sometimes, I was a monster from Power Rangers.

This will probably be the last festive Christmas at the White House for quite a while.
Over 300 volunteers from all around the country teamed together with the First Family to transform the White House into a spectacular holiday celebration.

Although planning and theme creation started shortly after last year’s holiday season, the decorating team made its final push to …

Yup. Both the Orange Tits Baby Man and Elon Musk have no idea what the majority of Americans live like. Supporting those two are not what you, more than likely not a millionaire or a billionaire, are going to benefit anything from.
