vendor financing is also not that unusual, which is materially what those deals are - though the scale is notable - so I'm not sure if there's anything illegal about it

it adds risk to an already-risky system, so I'm not saying it's *good* but it's a way to keep openai bubbling

one of those pretty famously was nvidia so I'm taking this as 'something has shaken their faith'

but also it's not a massive percentage for either company

one of the major tech investors unwinding from a $5tn company is bound to go quietly
November 11, 2025 at 7:56 AM
the important part is that the seller thinks it's high even though pretty much everything else is gonna give out before the shutter

gdi @jakei.bsky.social was right
that bee so bad wants to fuck that flower
November 10, 2025 at 8:26 AM
that is so cool ya I think I need to set this up
November 10, 2025 at 8:25 AM
it just seems like so much fun since I really have to go outside if I want to take photos of things and well, I have all this weird stuff in my house I could stalk
November 10, 2025 at 8:18 AM
I’m going to get one of those filter-mounted close-up lenses though and see how different it gets
November 10, 2025 at 8:05 AM
ok that’s… well biology… uhh… look ok yeah probably
November 10, 2025 at 8:04 AM
400mm APS-C and then cropped portrait, so there is a bit of cheating

diffraction seems a non-issue but it’s also a ring flash right up on him
November 10, 2025 at 8:03 AM
telephoto and a flash - I was as close as it would focus at like f/22
November 10, 2025 at 7:54 AM
yeah it would be nice if openDesk had some 'you have to be *this* open' standard

there aren't many FOSS packages that will give you your corporate 'stack' though - would be nice to know what they evaluated
November 9, 2025 at 8:37 PM
and openDesk *is* just a package of deployment descriptors, etc. - that's what I mean when I say it's just a bunch of OSS brought together
November 9, 2025 at 8:34 PM
a lot of it you can browse, I don't know enough about OX to say whether or not it's buildable - but seems to be a frontend to things like postfix, etc.?

gotta be a *real* broadcaster handholding a blue yeti while talking into the top of it
November 9, 2025 at 3:03 AM
time, flat circle, etc etc
yeag, i think that it’s Not Great, i mean its hard to even get people to check the address bar, and now to expect that sort of disambiguation is a lot, especially if you are not super familiar with a company
November 9, 2025 at 12:37 AM
ok no wait we can have both, there's a narrative here
November 8, 2025 at 11:47 PM
is he talking into a security camera inside an empty gym

did the camo work and they locked him up for the night
November 8, 2025 at 11:42 PM
now that you highlight it, I find the framing a bit disingenuous

one day we got 250k tickets
a different *week* we got 38k reports we didn't action

the error rate here may be very small, esp. considering the guidelines are vague enough that a good chunk of the 28k were probably good faith reports
November 8, 2025 at 11:27 PM
they also seem to have applied machine translation to existing kb articles and then auto-approved - so the fact that it's part of mozilla's llm infatuation is secondary to the "don't care, just blindly apply tech" myopia
