Even if I could afford to get a phone upgrade every year, I wouldn't. Because it's uhhhhhh... stupid? Why would I choose to migrate my entire workspace and spend $1000+ every 12 months out of a compulsive need to stay hip, instead of just continuing to use a perfectly good phone that I already own?

A more recent one is The Jackrabbit's Ofrenda by @brezerker.bsky.social . 12 months of non-stop loss of loved ones traumatized me until I couldn't function anymore. This book sincerely helped me climb over one of the steepest hills of grief and learn to move forward with what I have left of them.

I encourage you to listen to all of Marcie's musical projects, but my favorite will always be the albums she recorded with King Kobra, particularly Thrill of a Lifetime. Speaking as a big fan of Russ Ballard's songwriting, nobody has ever mastered his melodies quite like Marcie did in this song.

I'm happy about how much support she received from not only her dedicated fanbase but from the broader metal community in later years. She was well loved at the time of her passing, both by former bandmates and long-time fans. I'm sad to see her go, but grateful for the incredible life she lived. 💜🏳️‍⚧️

If you're a metalhead or AOR fan and you've never heard of Marcie Free, it's probably because of how the entire industry ghosted her after she transitioned. Many die-hard hair metal fans continued to celebrate her even before her comeback, but she faced continuous industry hostility for years.
