Sure, people point out so many teams create/score against Liverpool. But the bottomline is they try to find ways of scoring more than their opposition.
This draw feels like two points dropped rather than a point won, I don't really care if it's September or May.

When you actually watch the Liverpool games, and hear about people just dismissing their last minute wins as 'lucky'.. it boils my head.
We behave and play like a team that does not know how to be title winners. That celeberation and sub make it hard to prove otherwise.

And like you said, the hope is we improve ofcourse. But our players have become what we all said they needed to become (street smart, buying fouls etc.), but lol I think I was wrong about how much I'd like it.

Arteta has done absolute wonders, no complaints at all about who we look so close to glory, but I had this wish that we would somehow become one of those teams that won while playing breathtaking football. And from here, that would mean we need to change quite a lot.

Same timeframes I guess, and yeah we have been through a lot of shit. I have felt so lost and disconnected during those times (late Arsene era, Emery ball etc.), but this football is taking me awfully close to feeling unrelated.

Started supporting this team for a reason, and whatever I have been seeing for the past 1+ years have been miles away from it. Last season had lots of asterisks, and this is just the first game of the season, but if things don't improve, it's hard to see anything that I can relate to.

This is the same game I have seen countless times under Arteta though. Sterile possession with no ideas, and looking nowhere closer to scoring.
We excuse it as the team being spent, but going long every single time from the goalkeeper when we have a short 9 is .. baffling. Also get rid of #5.

And Lewis Hall too I guess? But can't really fault the transfer activity of Liverpool though, they're really really good (Darwin laughs in?)

As great as Timber has been defensively, White with those three takes us to different level altogether in attack. I'd assume the numbers are miniscule when we factor him into this equation?
May 14, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Have we been credibly linked anywhere though?
May 14, 2025 at 4:52 PM
I should probably keep spewing this shit if this is what Arsenal transforms into
May 11, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Oh definitely, we are done this season and a lot of our problems look exaggerated. Injuries, tough luck.. but I've had the same feeling when everyone was fit and I had to sit through unimaginative games against the newcastles, villas, fulhams, evetons etc etc.

Yeap, and games against sides like this Liverpool team feel like it's shouting the contrasts at our faces. We are a very good team built on good foundations, and hard to beat. But we just don't like a team who loves winning and would do anything for it.
May 11, 2025 at 4:23 PM
The lack of runners we have overall seems like a feature too, not a bug. And the siege mentality. And games like these just throw the contrast in our faces. Liverpool smelled blood, and were complaining when we (losing 2-0) were wasting time. I mean..
Seen it too many times
May 11, 2025 at 4:20 PM
I just hate our passiveness when we have the ball. You don't stand there with the ball at the edge of the penalty box for 5 seconds unless you have the dribble to get out of the mess. Merino, Odegaard, Trossard (bloody hell) all guilty of it.
May 11, 2025 at 4:16 PM
Well I hope I'm wrong and the stats win out in the end.
May 7, 2025 at 9:30 PM
Have noticed them spinning too many times for my liking, and I think Arteta alluded to it in a conference too
May 7, 2025 at 9:24 PM
I have followed you for long enough to understand the stats don't backup what I am saying. I have a question though, because I genuinely dont know. Do all these xG models take into account the number of defenders around, or the height/pace of the ball before the ball was struck?
May 7, 2025 at 9:22 PM
Today might have been slightly different, given the amount of injuries (Arteta's best job yet like you said), but I have seen the same game without injuries too. Too frequently for my liking.
May 7, 2025 at 9:18 PM
And I have seen the same single paced attack so many times over the last three years that it just becomes too predictable. Whenever we try to up the pace, we just look downright uncomfortable because the team just isn't built for that.
May 7, 2025 at 9:17 PM
I think of it as we try to snipe the enemy down, but when you are losing, good teams take out their cannon and try to blow the house up.
May 7, 2025 at 9:16 PM
I don't know how to quantify it, but you watch so many games and you get the sense a goal is just around the corner. Teams that win give you that feeling every minute they are losing, and I see that from us too, but not enough. Certainly not enough when we are losing.
May 7, 2025 at 9:16 PM
We have so much control over most of the teams we play, yet we repeatedly end up saying we are unlucky. We debate about fine margins after every loss, a shot going an mm wide or narrow. I see the teams that win creating momentum and intensity in attack, which I've never seen us do.
May 7, 2025 at 9:16 PM
To be frank Fabian Ruiz has never felt like he's that guy. That goal going in was just a moment, but no.5 did us no favours with his clearance to a dangerous area. Did the same vs Newcastle too, and it seems like a pretty basic mistake.

The headline says likely to feature?
