Cat person. At least half of my followers are bots. I can't be a***d to remove them.
There was a vet called "Silke Sanft" (= "Silke Gentle" in German) around the corner from my first flat. Sadly, I was pet-less back then and never found out if her nomen was an omen.

The thing about good stories is that they're so universal that they work across genres. You just need to *know* them to play with them. Seems like she couldn't tell her Rapunzel from her Ophelia. 😜
Alternatively: use your own bl**dy imagery (which she can't do either without being cringe).

There are a handful of TS songs across her entire œvre that I can enjoy when I switch the language-processing part of my brain off.
But even that doesn't work with her latest album, it's just 100% not sing-alongable-to. 🎤👄 "Shake it off" 🎶 while cleaning the bathroom? Doable. "Uh-pheli-uhh"? Nope.

I don't know what poptimism is but this is depressing.

I just saw someone use the abbreviation “AI;DR” and I’ll be laughing for a while.

Ich (🇩🇪) bin nur über "Einserkastl" gestolpert. 😆

Having worked (been forced to work) with LLMs for little over a year, I'm worried about sh*t not working anymore over the medium term. Either because LLMs won't do the job and/or because there won't be any experts around anymore to determine whether they *do* do the job.

This is my new life motto.

What always gets me is "I didn't have X so I used Y, love this recipe!" – Which one? The one you're commenting on or the one you just invented?! 😆

Bokchoikopita

I could almost feel my POV change with repeated use of certain terms and expressions. It's also funny how concepts that didn't exist for me (bc there's no word for them in my native language) became real. But that happened mostly (only?) on the lexical level.

I'd say it sounds more like a Star Trek episode. 😄
I came across the SP hypothesis as an undergraduate 30 years ago and couldn't believe the ridiculousness of the examples they gave. That said, having lived and worked abroad for almost a decade, I've mellowed a bit on them. 😬
