Definitely get that, just hoping to create some solidarity by saying ‘hey that’s ME and ACTUALLY…’ versus pretending it’s just other (worse) people or getting offended.

Correcting from 18+ years of poverty is *so hard* especially if there was medical neglect or you had to significantly contribute to your household as a teen.

I’m poor & I always self-identify that way in an attempt to destigmatize & also reveal that people in ‘good’ jobs who are well-educated are often .. POOR. It’s extremely difficult to attain class mobility even when you do everything ’right’ - embarrassment is a tool of oppression.
