Swarm ship interior from STAR TREK BEYOND. According to co-writer Doug Jung: "I think that was again something that Justin always wanted to do... He's like, 'Why would you have that big ship going around? Why not just get a bunch of little ones?' And I was like, 'Yeah. Guess it makes sense!'" The idea of using small vessels also helped the team achieve a goal they were aiming for, as they wanted to make the space battle sequences in the movie less like the submarine warfare genre of films than was usual for such scenes in Star Trek."

Enterprise corridor, STAR TREK BEYOND (2016)
Revised corridor set used during production of STAR TREK BEYOND. Taking up Production Designer duties from Scott Chambliss when Justin Lin came on board as director, Thomas E. Sanders largely maintained visual continuity from the prior two Kelvin Timeline films. Nevertheless, due to the production moving filming from Los Angeles to Vancouver, British Columbia, a the Enterprise interior was reconstructed at Pinewood Studios. Nearly identical to the sets from STAR TREK and STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, the Enterprise interiors received minor upgrades and changes.
