I play video games, wrench on cars, bust my knuckles on power tools, fight traffic on a bicycle, and read cereal boxes if I can't find a book. he / him. Canadian. Never 51.
Pinned
Got my new hoodie.
Now THAT'S how you talk about AI.
Literally all of society hates this abominable scam homunculus and the weird little death cult bubble of vampiric losers who spewed it forth upon the world. Take a break from bragging about how gullible you are and give yourself a swirlie and stuff yourself in a locker and sort yourself out.

Box? Singular?

It is to laugh.

😆 🤣
Bluesky, how big is your box of old cables? If you know you know.

Well, on a whirlwind decision, I posted my RX7800XT gpu on Marketplace.
6 days later, I'd gotten $600 for it, which went towards the RX9070XT which now resides in my case.
Immediately better ray-tracing, and ~3x the framerate (steady around 145fps)
I did some settings tweaking and got that to a fairly steady 58-65fps at 5120x1440.

There is some occasional stuttering, but not bad, by any means.

I'd love to see what an RX9070XT can produce, but that upgrade is not in the cards right now.

4600 hours in Civ6 alone, probably upwards of 15,000hrs in the franchise.

That's depressing, when I put it like that 😆
Name a videogame you've played for 1250+ hours.

Last season and this of @wilwheaton.net's podcast have been jam packed with critters, creatures, and entities. He was busy recording this season when I asked if he'd have any furry stories like LeVar Burton's podcast. The result is better than any answer he could have given. wilwheaton.net/podcast/
It’s Storytime with Wil Wheaton
You may recognize Wil Wheaton’s name from his acting work in television shows like The Big Bang Theory, Leverage, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, or 1985’s timeless classic, Stand B…

I've noticed some of this behavior recently, too. Not this egregious, but not good.

So far, waze appears not to have succumbed but it's not a good for distance.
Google Maps literally told me to drive off a bridge the other day. Wanted me to turn onto the road 50ft below me.

How much you want to bet they've crammed "AI" into the routing algorithm?

So.... "The Long Walk" was fucking stellar. Brutal, horrific, way too relevant, and beautifully shot.
Also, every one of the actors playing walkers deserves a huge ongoing career.
It's different than the book, but no less effective and poignant, and that's rare.
November 19, 2025 at 2:02 PM
I've waited forty years to see "The Long Walk" on the big screen.
So off to The Mayfair tonight to see it!
And I'm so glad I'm hearing such good things about it.

Just cuz I suspect it's gonna be relevant: "underage women" is a contradiction in terms. There are adults and there are minors, who are children. Ditto "nonconsensual sex." That's rape. The only reason to play semantic games is because you benefit from obscuring the simplicity of these terms.

This is, frankly, awesome.
This is the Canadian Premier League soccer finals and we have a bicycle kick goal in the middle of a blizzard … and that’s the most Canadian thing I’ve ever seen 😂

Also, I'm ranting about winter tires again, over at The Drunken Wrench.

Ranting About Winter Tires. Again.
Honestly, this one is pretty simple. the TL:DR is “buy the winter tires, use them”. If we’re going to get a little deeper, gain a little more nuance to the conversation, yes, you …

You ever put off playing through / finishing the story in a game, because you just don't want it to end, and complete that first-time experience in a game?
Apparently, that's where I'm at with Borderlands 4. Best BL game since BL2.

Y'all forgot how to drive again, huh, Ottawa?

It was fantastic seeing Kimi Antonelli fight for that podium today.
100%v deserved it.

By mistake, I think?

Jesus fuck. The fuck is wrong with the NYT?
What happened, @nytimes.com? Why not stand by your original headline? Because it’s absolutely an accurate representation of this trash conversation.

To publish this at all should be a fireable offense - but to publish it as women’s rights are being decimated is deeply immoral, bordering on evil

TOMORROW is game day. I'll be streaming, and the link is on my donation page.
Unrelated, I'm bad at streaming.
If you can throw five bucks (or more) to help us help CHEO, it would be hugely appreciated.

...Real talk, though:

If you've ever thought "I want to read more graphic novels, but I have no idea where to even start?"

I put together a booklist of my top favorite, absolute-must-read graphic novels!! 👇👇 It's like a list of potential holiday gifts for comic fans!

People: hi.

Me: You heard of these things called graphic novels?? They’re like comic books that are the length of novels, and employ compositional storytelling to—here, I’ll just start you off with these 20 first, you got a pen?

Teen Vogue political coverage has been next level for years. The dissolution of that is absolute balls.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
