I don't like it when people compare being disabled to being Black. Or ableism to racism. And saying things like racism is less accepted than ableism. Cause as a Black disabled person. I can tell you that racism is very much still accepted. More so than ableism.

Here's an update on the canes!! I know many of you are excited for them!! They're almost finally done! They just need to be put together and tested. Then packaged and shipped to me. Here's a pic (below) and video of them! I haven't forgotten!

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

I almost cried at my dentist office today because they waved the fee for my dentist visit today and for all future visits. My insurance went from covering 100% of my dental costs to about 40% recently. They know about my situation and wanted to help me.

Remember when the pandemic began and everyone started accommodating remote work? Everyone began showing brand new movies and live concerts streaming? Disabled people had been fighting for this for decades. Now it’s all taken away. It’s not that they can’t accommodate us, they just don’t want to.

Sometimes I worry about being "too much" because I have been abandoned by people I've cared about in the past. But then I remember that I have many people in my life that love me for being me. And that it's more than okay to be myself and to exist. So thank you for being there.

The bill emphasizes the financial burden of end-of-life care. I got an early Christmas gift from the hospital where my mom passed 10 months ago. She aspirated while in the hospital for cancer treatment, they did CPR - no pulse and called to tell me she passed, she came back for a few hours but was unconscious of course, then passed again. (Fun fact - she had a DNR. They missed it.) Since they sat on submitting it to her insurance, it was denied for no coverage.... because she was now deceased. Makes sense. So I got this nice little bill. Called the billing department to tell them to shove it. They ask if I want to pay the balance today. Then they tell me 'we'll' go to collections if not. I gave them her new forwarding address. The cemetery.
