During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

"Cognitively irresponsible" leaders do not want to explain themselves. They don't want to answer questions. They just want you to accept "because I said so" and have that be the end of the discussion. This is an autocrat. This is not a president.

There is no world in which it is normal for the president to publicly call upon his attorney general to hurry up and prosecute his political foes. It’s like the Watergate tapes but posted on social media. Let’s get a grip on what’s happening here.

I absolutely do NOT agree with Bolton’s politics but I can STILL say it’s completely corrupt to send the FBI to raid the home of a political opponent or detractor.
