I have a system for ensuring consistency across worlds, nations, and even people. What else would you like to know?

I hope to make it a regular thing whenever I visit Vermont in the future!

Finally, I got home in time to celebrate my wedding anniversary and Halloween.

November is full of fun projects that I can't wait to talk about when they are published! #Editor #MonthlyRoundUp #TTRPG #Fantasy #SciFi

Such a long road of transformation and honestly it can change over the years as to what platforms you like!

My favorite hobbies are business expenses because those are my clients and I have to know the current trends.

2021 me was terrified to take the step into fulltime freelance but 2025 me is happy to be here. Cheers and may you have a spooky fun Halloween!

If you prefer to post online only, do that. A mix of both? Perfect. Also, it takes time to build up your base.

This life is not the easiest but it is so rewarding. I get to work with cool clients and edibuddies, I learn new things every year and almost every project.

Day 29: Share a moment when you felt truly supported by an editing community. My edibuddies and the ETC make me feel less alone in a profession that can be lonely. I appreciate their candor and insight as we co-work together.

Day 28: What kind of stories feel most aligned with your values? I love stories that show both sides of a conflict in equal light. Life is a rainbow and the villain may not be as villainous as you are making them out to be (some ARE and their takedowns are the best).
October 29, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Day 27: What's one editing myth you'd love to bust? That language and its rules are stuck in a past decade. Language is a morphing and living concept that we share, think of Merriam-Webster's new words list. How many words and usages have changed since you were a kid?

Day 25: What's your go-to snack or drink while editing? Currently it is dried mango, cashews, and matcha lattes.

Day 26: What's the weirdest thing you've Googled while editing? Fact-checking the exact process on how to traditionally tan a deer hide. It was for a reality-based survival fiction book.

Day 24: What does being an editor mean to you? It makes to help make a difference to someone's story, their manuscript or their personal one. I've been an author coach, editor, and confidant to several authors who needed the extra support and push to finish their book.
October 29, 2025 at 7:38 PM
Day 22: What is your "pie in the sky" dream project to edit? I have four clients that satisfy my previous dream projects. My current one is to work on a new sweeping TTRPG from start to finish & get to do fun add-ons like cookbooks, crafting, and other fun side hobbies associated with that IP.

Day 21: How do I recharge after a big project? I put in a few days as a buffer between projects to allow decompression. I also try to stack different kinds of projects so I am switching from one kind to another to prevent burnout.

Post-nap our nanny arriving and easily slipping into editor mode and business mode for 4-6 hours. Eating a bunch of pre-prepped snacks and tasty drinks (water and tea). Then having a good evening with my family. (2/2)
