“"Who owns them hungry hills
That the water-hen and snipe must have forsaken?
A poet? Then by heavens he must be poor."
I hear and is my heart not badly shaken?”

In an attempt to feel more Christmassy I’ve picked up Snow by John Banville. Nothing says festive cheer quite like a murder mystery.

I finished this earlier. It's a collection of psychological horror stories centred on childhood, marriage, and ageing. It's a fun collection, but not my favourite from the genre.

Finished & enjoyed. Moss' message in "The Fell" is a message of hope for the future. It emphasizes the importance of remembering that spring will come, despite the dark days.

Finished. I think there was an over reliance on Tom Sawyer to highlight Huck and Tom's maturity differences. In the end, it seemed a little repetitive, but I suppose it had to come full circle for Huck's journey. Since it began with Huck and Tom's exploits, it makes sense it concluded with them.

Sarah Moss is constantly outstanding. She's the only person I'd voluntarily return to the Covid era for.
