@mrjamesob.bsky.social Can you cover Covid jabs & restrictions.I’m 65 with mild COPD & Husband has lung cancer.I get flu/pneumonia jab free but had to pay £90 for Covid. Covid would worsen my COPD & if I’m ill hubby needs hospital care. Both would cost NHS more than £28. So why no free jab for me?

What's happening with UK Labour absolutely sickens me. Cowardly Keir Starmer has sold out every principle the party was built on and turned on the very people the party was founded to stand up for.

Starmer, Reeves, Streeting, Kendall, Akehurst. They need to go.

The fact that Reeves and Starmer are picking on the vulnerable whilst giving uber wealthy a free pass & Streeting thinks this is OK tells you all you need to know about UK Labour. They act like Tory Wannabes. It's beyond awful. relax fiscal rules, tax wealth, remove asinine Brexit red lines = growth

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social said they would protect most vulnerable pensioners when cutting WFA - they didn’t. Now they reckon they will protect most vulnerable when cutting disability benefits - spoiler alert - they won’t. They are not a Labour Party, they are Tories. Disgraceful & evil.

Austerity is a political choice.

UK govt gave £70.6bn tax relief on pension contributions.

63% went to 6m 40%/45% tax rate payers.
37% to 28.1m basic rate taxpayers.

By fixing the relief at 20% for all Govt can reduce inequalities and have £14.5bn spare.

End tax perks of the rich.

Liz Kendall says getting people into work is best way to cut benefits bill.

Must attend to real reasons

Low wages: 40% of Universal Credit claimants are in work.

Lack of healthcare disabling people.

Reeves plans billions in benefits and spending cuts

Wrong policy. Can't get growth by inflicting austerity, real income cuts, cutting public investment.

Must redistribute, end profiteering, end tax perks of the rich; need wealth tax, Tobin tax, tax capital gains & dividends at same rate as wages.

UK Treasury earmarks billions in spending cuts.

It is austerity, cutting real wages, dept spending and benefits, hitting low/middle income families

No plan for redistribution of income/wealth or curbing profiteering.

People need to put pressure on their MPs.

@lewisgoodall.com if you get to interview Badenoch about immigration, ask how she’d handle theoretical cases where people come from overseas to give birth just so their child gets a passport & then goes home - only for that child to return to get free education for which no taxes have been paid.

If Gov forced energy co to reduce prices in line with rest of world & scrap standing charge-people & companies would have more money to spend/invest, promoting growth. So many can’t afford cost of living in UK anymore, they have reached their limit. It’s survival only which is no way to live.
