This is so interesting since we have Summer Tanagers here and then Scarlet Tanagers due to migration! I have not been able to add either to my life list yet as I’ve just started birding.

I have, however, been able to add the Vermillion Flycatcher. And I got to see it up close!

I’ve never heard them before but they sound so lovely 🥰
I also cannot get over how many other bird sounds I hear in the background! It is like a cacophony of bliss 😊

She looks so much bigger than him despite the tails and they both have the blue eyes, which is surprising to me. She looks very intent and aware to me, even in charge. And he seems ready to move at a moment’s notice, but perhaps that is how he balances?
They are quite striking!

Thank you! It’s one of my favorite birds simply because of its coloring and plumage. The gorgeous way it looks is magnified when it soars through the air. Sigh…. I could just stare at them for hours I think!
