Troubleshooting is definitely an acquired skill. It'll be easier and quicker to figure out next time!

What are you stuck on specifically?

In a co-op model, you might also be looking to generate a return for members.

What's been your strategy for figuring out what works, and what doesn't?

There is this Trusted Signing thing via an Azure Subscription. I haven't used it myself, but it does appear to be cheaper upfront than paying for the certificate.

Yeah it's ridiculous, and cost prohibitive for smaller businesses imo.

It's the reason I dropped development for the windows version of the desktop agent for time-protector.vercel.app.

If it is indeed considered cloaking, and that's core to your product, I don't think it's worth the risk personally. It could damage your reputation long-term and make it so people aren't as likely to buy from you.

Maybe get a second opinion on whether or not it's cloaking?

I'm definitely up for it! I become increasingly aware of my mom's financial choices these days, and I think we have to talk sooner rather than later. So some education would be very helpful for me.

I appreciate that. The clarity has been really liberating tbh. I was feeling very weighed down by continually marketing an app that wasn't gaining any traction at all.

It's true. I think it's just hard to admit when it's not working, especially because it feels like a chunk of the advice you read is "don't give up too early." But blindly continuing on when it's not working was definitely not the right move for me here.

That's fair! Well I will keep an eye out for updates then!

I'm very excited to be working on something I actually care about, instead of something just to chase profits.

I've also been following what you're working on. It's inspirational!

Sorry about that, wrong link 😅

Sounds interesting! 🤔 Can you say what it is?

For now, I'm poring over the Ampled (precursor to Subvert) codebase which they open sourced a few years ago.

I'm looking for guidance on doing the payment splits, and some other features I haven't started digging into yet.

I also realize from this that I'm going to need help.

It's not realistic to think I can do this alone.

Specifically in the areas of artist/label outreach, industry awareness, and legal/business entity formation support.

If you have ideas, let me know!

I think MxTp already has plenty of differentiating features.

I'm going to focus on delivering those up front so I can split some of them off into other apps while I continue dev on MxTp.

First will likely be a site builder (future artist pages).

Well, I do feel a bit of regret having spent half this year trying to prove to myself I could make this sticker chart app happen.

But you're right, it is an overall positive change, and a pivot I'm pretty excited to make tbh.

Sure!

Build in public is just about showing others your process for whatever you're creating.

Doesn't have to be software, though by and large it is.
