It was my lifelong dream to become my own boss by time I was 40, and I failed.

But instead of giving up, I’m pivoting.

I'll rebuild, now in public, using

- authenticity
- transparency
- openness
- vulnerability

I'll show you the ups and downs, the highs and lows.

Doing some analysis on other site builder apps.

Focused on carrd.co (affordable) and cargo.site (flexibility).

I basically want people to be able to create whatever they want with this.

Any other apps I should look at?

Got my first review for my sticker chart app today, from one of the sites it was submitted to.

It gave some great feedback, and has me second-guessing pulling the plug.

Def not gonna market more rn, but I may revisit it after all.

Started work on my new site builder today.

Just trying to get a quick poc working this afternoon that I can iterate on.

I've never built anything like this before, so I'm excited to dig in.

Plus it feels nice to start a new project.

Okay, so, lots to think about after reading @subvert.fm's plan.

I am really grateful for this blueprint, and will be referencing it a lot in the future.

I'm also appreciative of the competition, since I think that's the future anyway.

The idea for MxTp has been gestating in my head for a couple of years.

I started dev on it like 18-ish months ago.

Then TIL about Ampled, and subsequently @subvert.fm 🤯

I feel like I have to rethink a lot now. There's so much I didn't think about!

I've been quiet so far this week.

Prob going to pull the plug on my marketing efforts for stickerch.art and cut my losses.

Also likely going to pivot target audiences altogether, and go after one that I actually care about. Will post more later!

Feeling very ill today so mostly resting.

But I have been experimenting with ads on FB & Insta again.

Set a budget around $25 for the week on a couple of reels.

So far I've been pleased with the increase in followers on Insta. Will report back in a few days.

Updating the landing page for stickerch.art got me thinking about the editor control for charts, and how I could improve it.

I want to add it to the landing page so users can see the customizations from there, but it needs some work first.

Finished revamp of the stickerch.art landing page.

Removed most of the text, added several mockup images of the app on phones.

Also greatly increased the spacing between sections, especially on desktop.

Removed FAQ and Pricing sections for now.

I had a rough week last week mental health-wise.

Trying to manage my mom's surgery on top of everything else sent me into the worst depressive episode I've had since I was hospitalized back in 2022.

I was feeling really hopeless this weekend, but I sought some help.
November 10, 2025 at 6:23 PM
When my mom was in the recovery room right after surgery, they warned me

"It'll get worse before it gets better"

I had no idea how right they would be 😅

Today is off to a better start though. 🤞

Still working on the sticker chart landing page.

Received some very valuable feedback that my landing page is too text-heavy.

I took a look and it is mostly text. 😅

Looked at some competitors, and theirs are mostly visual.

So, I've got some work to do this week to fix that!

Mom's surgery went great yesterday, and so far recovery is also going very well.

I'm still staying with her for 72 hours, so my schedule is a little funky, but this should actually free me up to get more work done than usual, which is great.

Decided just to go ahead and schedule today's FB post while waiting for her to get out of surgery.

It's probably the one bit of quiet time I'll have today!

Tomorrow should be a little easier.

Mom's surgery is today.

Probably won't leave much room for actual work today since I'm at the hospital, and then helping with recovery.

Will try to at least get a FB post scheduled using one of the pieces I made last week.

Marketing is going well.

Got this week's content created.

For reels I'm focusing on using trending audio.

Still not getting a ton of views, but definitely seeing some traffic.

Also seeking out some blog partnerships with discount codes.

Next Monday my mom is having knee replacement surgery and I will need to stay with her for a few days.

This means I won't have access to my desktop, and my laptop doesn't have Docker.

So today I'm migrating the MxTP DB temporarily to supabase.

While working on mxtp today, I ran into server action request body size limits for the first time.

Guess I'm gonna have to re-architect my release save a bit.

Between the album art, and the tracks themselves, it's going to require separate APIs.

Got a little more interest in the 30 day marketing co-op than I anticipated. Which is good! 6 people are joining.

Excited to learn from other people, and hopefully hold myself more accountable, and maybe even provide some value to them as well!

For any solo devs who are struggling with marketing the stuff they build:

30 days, daily check-in, optional weekly calls, more if wanted.

Looking for 2-3 people for now to help hold me accountable. DM me if interested!

Thinking about doing a daily check-in/micro-mastermind type of thing with other solo devs who are struggling with consistent marketing effort, or even to get started at all.

Low commitment, just need some help with accountability. Anyone interested?

Decided to try StartupSubmit to get sticker chart some backlinks.

The founder had emailed after my PH launch, and they have a pretty good deal for 300 directories, compared to tiny launch.

Will report back on this in a few weeks!

Wow fall break has been challenging this year!

It's the 1st one with my youngest home from school, and boy it shows.

I gotta strategize how to better balance work and her for the next one in a couple months.

Trying to get a bit done today!

Been a lil busy with the kids this week so didn't get much done the past couple of days.

Back on it today though, creating the next week's worth of FB posts, and also getting some more backlinks for sticker chart.
