Certain films just feel like NYRB Classics and Godland is one of them. It's Jack London meets Herzog’s Aguirre within a devastating exploration of religion and colonialism. Unbelievable cinematography, strong performances, a stunning atmosphere suffused with dread. Highly recommended!
