As an FSU student I experienced both Darrell Mudra and Bobby Bowden. The Bowden years were much better. Today’s professionalization of college athletics is unfortunate. Yes, Mike Norvell is a coach and winning is expected. As a ‘Nole, be proud that he’s also a teacher and role model for young men.

The US should have one position and one position only regarding ending the war in Ukraine. Russian troops must retreat to Russia and Ukraine must regain its pre-war borders and territory. There really is no other acceptable option. It’s what the Trump administration should demand of Vladimir Putin.

Call me old fashioned but I thought that the purpose of a college education was to become educated. A liberal education should prepare students for an infinite range of opportunities, not for a particular type of job. A university isn’t an advanced technical college, yet it’s the new expectation.
