I watched the first 2 episodes of The Walking Dead with my son last night. A few things struck me:

• The first zombie we see picks a doll off the ground. They don't do that later.
• She's also a little girl. The demographics of walkers tend to skew older.
• The zombies move fast! Some of them […]

If smuggling drugs makes you a narcoterrorist, and therefore(?) subject to extrajudicial execution, then anyone buying illegal drugs is "giving aid to a terrorist organization."

Since Trump claims these supposed narco-terrorists are at war with the US, then […]

Yikes! I was working away on MacBook and noticed the emoji key wasn’t working, so I had to copy and paste an emoji I wanted to use. No big deal.

Then I realized the entire keyboard wasn’t working except for the delete key. Well, it’s been months since I restarted it. Let’s give that a go.

Building slack into your schedule […]

So back in 1944, a German U-Boat Commander named Heinz-Wilhelm Eck did exactly what US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth ordered US military forces to do - kill the survivors of a destroyed boat at sea.

Now, as then, this is considered a War Crime.

In 1945, Commander Eck was tried, found guilty […]

Commanders specifically ordered Navy SEALs to fire on and kill two survivors of (alleged) drug boat sinking in September. "The order was to kill everybody".

Analyzing this as an unlawful order or as homicide or as a war crime is, of course, necessary, but at the same time it seems morally […]

Another flagrant example of Trump apparatchiks ignoring a federal court's explicit order and doing what the judge told them not to do.

At what point will judges start, you know, doing something about this repeated lawbreaking? […]

I love these sentences in “On the Calculation of Volume, Part 3”:

“There is something alarming about the thought of being bound to a random person. There is the certainty of having gained a travel companion, but also the sense of having been assigned some of the responsibility for their baggage.”

Dear Guardian journalists: do we even need to ask these bullshit "both sides" questions?

You wouldn't write, "Twenty witnesses saw a man they all knew well rob the bank. But he denies it. Who's telling the truth?"

There aren't two sides here.
