Baldur's Gate 3 has "karmic dice" that tilt all rolls toward successes.
I just attacked a thing and rolled a critical miss. But as a barbarian, I can use reckless strike to roll attack again with advantage, meaning TWO dice rolls and you use the higher. ANOTHER CRITICAL MISS?!

I never noticed before that D&D doesn't seem to have an in-setting term to describe non-magical abilities that classes get. They're "abilities" or "class features" in rulebooks, but in the world they're just kinda... things... people can do if they practice a bunch.
