Although it's just pronounced like Mary + Annette and I assume her parents wanted a cute spelling. Although she is Catholic, and in general, we don't do stuff like with our names. Especially if Mary is part of it.

Presumably, Lopez thought Rivera could cover the huge right field at the LA Coliseum and deal with finding any fly ball among the sea of humanity that right fielders saw. Shaw started off with a wild pitch, moving the runners to 2nd and 3rd

Chicago manager Al Lopez left his starter Bob Shaw in. But he put in a new right fielder, Jim Rivera, moving Al Smith to left and taking out Jim McAnany.

In Game 5, the White Sox were clinging to a 1-0 lead in the 7th trying to bring the series back to Chicago. The Dodgers had 2 on with 2 outs with Charlie Neal up.
