If you don’t like the Tik Tok deal ( and it is crony capitalism in full flight ) delete the app and encourage others to do the same. If voting at the ballot box isn’t working. And protests and strikes aren’t getting attention: vote with your dollars. That gets noticed, everytime!!!!

The only reason Charles Foster Kane didn’t become president is because of a scandal that derailed his ascent. What scandal could do that now? Seriously. We live in a moment when Kane gets the Office, the opera house, the papers. Everything. The White House has become Xanadu.

We spend too much time shocked by this abomination. It’s cover for some really smart people - mobilizing behind the scenes to go after liberal democracy and finish the job. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The president continues to preach austerity and hate to people struggling to make ends meet. No wonder voters are turning on him

Let’s add “it’s not right to send the army into a sovereign nation to kill citizens to get that oil”.
Rand Paul: "We've never in our past decided just to shoot smugglers who are unarmed without even proof they're smuggling anything. So I think this is a horrendous thing that should stop. I think it's illegal & immoral... the kids in the military - I'm not for sending them down there to die for oil"

They are trying to prove it’s all corrupt and pointless. There is no “catching them”. They want to be caught. Then, we all turn away and they take all the loot and rights, unobstructed.

CARR: I think th---

L: Yes or no

C: There's a test for this in the la---

L: It's yes or no, Brendan! On your website, it simply says, man, 'the FCC is independent.' This isn't a trick question

C: The FCC is not

L: So is your website lying?

C: Possibly

Honest question: how did public discourse basically devolve into an open sewer? I actually really want to know what people think.

These guys all sound like witnesses at a mob trial who suddenly don’t know a thing about anything.
COLLINS: Do you disagree with Trump's pardon of the former Honduran leader who was also indicted and convicted?

RICK SCOTT: I don't -- I never -- I never met the guy and I don't know anything about it

COLLINS: But do you approve of that pardon?

SCOTT: I don't know much about it

COLLINS: Ok

And here it goes… not just that the news outlets are doing false or slanted reporting. They are falsifying evidence. This approach will destroy our politics, our society, our shared reality. It’s been knocking on the door. It’s here. This is a code red.

Canada, let’s take note. We can make Canada the nation of the 21st century if we stick together, and lean into our strengths while being honest about our challenges. Can a nation be innovative and fair. Let’s find out.
Sounds about right.

This should be taped to the desk of every Democratic Party member.
Like any bully, Trump is fundamentally a coward. When he feels humiliated, he lashes out. Every authoritarian action he is taking must be understood against the backdrop of his declining popularity. He feigns strength, but he's operating from a place of weakness.

One thing we’ve seen now, with our own eyes in North America, is that there will always be enablers ready to support the deranged and immoral. And we should learn from this that anything is therefore possible.

Honest question. What will it take to get Trump’s followers to think maybe this guy isn’t quite the right fit for the job of President.

The people in charge expect there to be retaliatory violence. They also believe they hold the hammer, and it will allow them, in response, to torch the constitution in countless ways. Setting up a system that forces cash and rights to flow permanently away from poor people And to right to them.
Not in this lifetime would I ever think that Rand Paul might actually sound somewhat reasonable. Just goes to show where the bar is set considering Trump’s hate, greediness and off the charts ignorance.

Sen. Rand Paul says redistricting efforts could lead to political violence
The Kentucky Republican said he believes redistricting efforts on both sides of the aisle are a "mistake" that could lead voters to feel disenfranchised.

There’s only question left worth answering: will voters put the GOP into the penalty box, starting with the 2026 midterms.
If not, you know that the only thing Republicans voters really care about is revenge against liberalism.
Q: At the end of this year, those extended Obamacare subsidies expire. What's your message to those 24m Americans who will see their premiums go up?

TRUMP: Don't make it sound so bad. Obviously you're a sycophant for Democrats. You're obviously a provider of bad news for Republicans.

It seems pretty clear, the US is open to funding Alberta separatists. What they said about backing certain MAGA-friendly European regimes or opposition parties must surely apply to movements closer to home.

Trump knew. And he knows we know. So he’s lashing out. He knows it’s the end of his run, and his only hope is to keep stalling and diverting attention. He’s done. Cooked. Vance and Co already running the shop.

Flooding the Zone is making the information space maddeningly toxic. A holiday break is a good idea if you need it. Even better is voting out people who pummel you with contradictions as a way to disempower you. Without accountability, they’ll keep doing it because it works.

Reminds me of Fat Tony asking “what’s a truck?”
WELKER: You're talking about Trump protecting Arkansas from drugs, yet he pardoned the former president of Honduras who trafficked more than 500 tons of cocaine into the US. How does that make us safer?

COTTON: I haven't spoken to POTUS about that pardon. I have to know more about the circumstances

Happy Sunday: the new week starts now. Let’s start it with rest and good people. I think this weekend is the unofficial start of Christmas eating season. As my dear, departed Gigi used to say in his broken English - “Crazy Go Nuts!”
