Lenny, Mwana, Zigi and Sulwe are the epitome of what we are working towards: elephant families living wild and free. When their mothers were orphaned as infants, our Orphans' Project saved them, raised them and returned them to the wild – where they're now nurturing this new generation.

Rescued as a tiny 5-month-old calf from the Chyulu Hills in 2016, Esampu now lives completely wild, but continues to maintain the bonds with her human family that sustained her through her most vulnerable years. She chooses when to come and when to leave - exactly as it should be.

It's getting hot in Tsavo and when the sun's at its peak, everyone is happy to find a little shade. Rescued orphan black rhino Chamboi found just the right spot, where he was soon joined by Keeper Jackson, and then Bombi the zebra decided she didn't want to be left out. Sharing is caring after all!

Lunar eclipse of 2025 did not disappoint. Shot with my Nikon D7000 and 55-200mm lens. Also enjoyed the view with Vortex binoculars.

Whether a rhino, buffalo, eland, kudu, warthog — Mr Bean makes his appearance at the end — or one of the many other species we are currently supporting on a journey back to the wild, with the help of our supporters we'll be there for any of Kenya's wildlife in need of help.
