have you tried the mitsubishi hi-unis? I find they're the closest to BWs. not always easy to get tho, but sometimes you can get boxes cheaper than bw's

I just picked up two cases at the Maido at the Orange County Mitsuwa, based on your suggestion.
Two, because there were 20 boxes yesterday, and someone picked up 17 of them this morning (display/storage). Leaving one for anybody.

I just picked up two cases at the Maido at the Orange County Mitsuwa, based on your suggestion.

Most people say Hi-Uni B is the closest, but I think the 2B is better, especially for drawing. Both are pretty close but not quiiiiite right. the 2B feels slightly more slippery on the paper than the 602. Palomino really made something special with the 602...

Checked Maido/Kinokuniya; both have them in stock (and are only 15 minutes away), plus the box price is only $15.
Only prob is that 602s were either 2B or B, so I need something with bite but black, so I need to find out which Mitsubishi Hi-Unis emulates the 602s the best. Thanks for the heads-up.
