I sometimes write plays. I used to act and direct. I try to be kind as much as I can.
UP is great, in my opinion, even though it was their first after Bill Berry left, and I did miss his drumming (and I think the album does demonstrate just how important his drumming was to the band).

I admire Wilson's making it very readable (and finally using words like "slaves" instead of maids and servants). I do love Fitzgerald's poetry (I love his "Aeneid"). I was a real Latin and Greek geek in high school. I was offered a scholarship to study it at BU, but decided to pursue theater.

What translation are you reading? I'm a nerd about this stuff. I love Fitzgerald more than Fagles. Emily Wilson's 2017 translation is really good, too, in my opinion.

I hope she and Maria ignored the guys and just cut up together with some of them Spanish dances.

I remember seeing that in the cinema, and I definitely cried at the end. Probably a lot.

It's funny you should say that! This wasn't in public, but five years back, I did Mr. Jones as a spoken word monologue for a girl I was dating to make her laugh. Lines like "I want to be a lion" are fun. But I added some lines from the girl they were staring at, who didn't appreciate being ogled.

I don't know if you remember this, but I thought of you when I heard "'Round Here" the other day, and a time when we came up with more absurd lyrics like, "She has trouble acting normal when she's on quaaaaaluuuudes" and things like that, in an exaggerated Adam Duritz voice. Hope you're well!

This doesn't make any of us safe. This doesn't help any of us. My heart breaks every single day when I see what is happening in Gaza. I feel helpless. I know many of you do too.

But when people enact violence in our name, it makes everyone less safe and it makes peace less likely.

Antisemitism breeds extremism, cruelty, and conspiracy theories. Equating Jewish people with Israel's far-right government inevitably leads to antisemitism.

It leads to innocent people getting hurt, more Jewish organizations being targeted, *and* Netanyahu using fear to gain more control.
