Five miles through Wykeham Forest today. Autumn feel with leaves starting to fall, Redpoll, Crossbill and Siskin overhead and lots of fungi on the forest floor.

Almost a full moon last night.

Time for another shot of southern darkness.

Watched Dzien Swira last night. Translated roughly as ‘Day of the Wacko’. Like a psychotic Polish ‘Falling Down’, only slightly trippier. Directed by Marek Koterski.

A nice and peaceful morning at Long Nab. Three grey seals in the bay, a Quail calling from the fields above and hares absolutely everywhere.

Never tire of these views. Not a bad start to a shift this morning.

Heartbeat country today. Nostalgia overload for those Sunday evenings, clinging to the weekend before another week of school. Viewing figures peaked at 18 million, which in my opinion gives the show a decent claim to being a British cultural institution. Wholesome
And underrated.

As it is #IndiePressDay I’ll take the opportunity to plug the legends at @razurcutsmag.bsky.social and my book published last year (link below). They were an amazing team to work with. Please celebrate indie publishers today and everyday! razurcuts.com/shop/a-decad...

Today was a good day.

Visited Westerplatte today in Gdansk. First battle of the Second World War (in Europe at least). ‘Never Again War’ and yet war rages a few hundred miles away, and the far right are in the ascendancy in capitals across the world. We seemingly never learn from history.

Every season in a couple of hours this morning. The March of renewal and hope not quite allowed to break free. The walls of winter hold.. for now.

Felt like spring today. Birds singing, woodpeckers drumming, blue skies. It’s just around the corner. #nature

A cold walk on Hunmanby Gap beach today. Plenty of cuttlebones washed up. And sadly this Harbour Porpoise. Hard to tell if the wound is the result of some sort of collision or fishing accident at sea, or gull and crow scavenging since it washed up.

Currently reading this, and couldn’t agree more.

This is a fascinating read. Amazing insights into the lives of Goshawks and the New Forest in general, but equally as interesting is looking back on the views, anxieties and chaos of the Covid and post-lockdown periods. Feels surreal reading it now. #books #booksky

Had the absolute pleasure of sailing around Marion Island this last week, down in the Southern/South Indian Ocean. Whales, Albatrosses, Petrels, Penguins. An incredible experience.

The new @razurcutsmag.bsky.social magazine arrived and was definitely worth the wait. Loads of good stuff in here, and a new poem from yours truly as well. Go grab a copy.
