Whisky is the best. No refrigeration, no ice, and no mixers needed. Just pour and enjoy.
Very nice! I'm still going real slow on my original 1st edition Laddie 10s, one full and one half down.

I've got some of those on hand too. Might be my favorite Ardbeg.

Ahhh - the 12 year old. I know it well.

I have the old original 10 year old malt and it's pretty much a plain slate. It's fun to play around with blending in various other malts to see what I can come up with.

Why make whisky your job? Just search for the good ones and sit back and enjoy. Of course you'll need a different job but it's better to dislike that one than the whisky one.

The bar at the ski area near my house was very close (walking distance if needed) but had a shitty whisky selection so I'd bring in a 50ml mini with a heavy peated malt. Then I'd order the "best" they had and spike it with some peat. Works every time and they had no idea.

I remember some years ago when Laphroaig was soliciting those descriptions on twitter and projecting them onto one of their buildings. I eventually got to see mine up there. That was a fun evening sharing whisky and wild thoughts. Good job Willem.

I have some of their standard 15. I once bought a 10 because it was cheap and I was curious. It was good enough for the price but at least it got me to move up the ladder. Big difference in taste and price. Glad I did.

A nice memory: My nephew and I were exploring my late uncle's abandoned camp and I brought a Bunna12. He wasn't into whisky so this new experience and our adventure through cob webs, moldy woodwork, a squishy (unsafe?) stairway and looking for things that would be worth saving will stick with us.

For a short while here in NH-USA, we had an indi peated malt blend called Smoke Stack. For the price and taste, it was a great bargain. I bought 7 for $30. It was more of a Caol Ila peat than and Ardbeg or Laphroaig peat.

Thanks! I never knew that rule.

I'm confused - "100% malt single grain." It just says single grain so where is the 100% malt? Wouldn't that just be single malt?

Maybe print the "e" in a different color to send the message. I read somewhere that countries that have an "e" in their name spell their whisky with the "e". It works for the ones that I can think of off the top of my head.

Gonna need a catchy name since they probably will not be able to use Bourbon.

A Bourbon article today. "The tariff war has really done a positive for the Canadian spirits business," noted Mr Wynne. In Canada, where bourbon imports have slowed to a trickle, local distilleries have started experimenting with bourbon-making methods to give Canadian whiskey a similar taste.

Don't know if I'd be brave enough to add Octomore to a Coke but if I did, it would be very small scale just to see what it tastes like.

It took me a long time to finally try the Lore. The NAS and price kept me away. I couldn't ignore the good reviews any longer and ended up getting a few more after that. The 1st two were on sale for $90 but the next two were $100. That was back in 2019.

I always had some around and then I didn't see it in our state run stores anymore so now I'm afraid to open my last bottle. Good stuff.

I wish it would show up in the stores here again so I wouldn't be so chicken shit to open one of my older bottles. One of my 10s is the old packaging from 2014. When I get the urge, I go for the Kilkerran 12.

I'm not a fan of overly sweet sherry bombs either.
